WindRider Rave Hydrofoil Trimaran

The WindRider Rave is not your ordinary trimaran - it is a hydrofoil! How cool is that! This incredible piece rips through the water like nothing else. Imagine being able to take over personal watercrafts with something without a motor or an engine, the WindRider Rave hydrofoil trimaran does exactly that.

It sails on 3 aircraft grade high performance aluminium wings. Once you set the sails and as speeds pick up, the trimaran simply lifts itself above the water and it does over 30 mph - simply incredible! WindRider is a 17 feet length and 17 feet beam wide super sailor with a total sail area of over 18 square meters. That is enormous wind power for upto 2 sailors on its very tough tri-hulls.

Larry Ellison’s (Oracle) Rising Sun (Biggest Yacht in the World)

Rising Sun is the result of the intense competetion between luxury mega yachts. Built by Lurssen yachts, this is the biggest yacht in the world. She was built to surpass the size of Octopus (owned by Microsoft’s Paul Allen), which was then the biggest yacht in the world.

Built by the same company, Rising Sun looks a little bit different from her counterparts Octopus, Carinthia VII and Pelorus; she has a majestic yet sophisticated look - the exterior was designed by Jon Bannenberg.

Rising Sun is 138 meters long.

Eliminator 300 Eagle XP

This is Eliminator 300 Eagle XP. A distinctive performance speed boat and a product of fine workmanship. Eliminator’s offer provides options for single or twin engines, closed deck and bowrider cabins. It is about 30 feet in length and 102 inches in beam, with 100 gallons fuel capacity and an approximate engine weight of 5,800 lbs. 300 Eagle XP has capacity for up to 8 passengers.

The Eliminator 300 Eagle XP is great for crusing in slight waters. The hull design is more of a sports design than a powerboat design, and this design has a better advantage in rough waters too.

Kelsall KSS Suncat 40

Added in Catamaran on the August 28th, 2006

Kelsall KSS Suncat 40
The Kelsall KSS Suncat 40 is a living legend. The model has been proven perfect by many sailors and it has even done Around the World sailing. It is a 40 feet long, 23 feet beam catamaran with capacity for 8 sailors. It has dual outboard engines, a draft of 3.1 feet and a sail area od 840 sqft.

The top priority of the design is performance and this model can do over 200 miles per day in long distance sailing. The weight is kept to a minimum and since speed, performance and agility was a requirement, it is stripped from the luxuries of a multideck cruiser. Instead the spacious yet comfortable and elegant cabin contains sleeping area, toilet, washroom, storage, saloon and kitchen and communications desk.

Overall, the Kelsall is a well-known and well trusted catamaran that is built for none other than performance. It is not an overly luxurious craft, but it was designed for a less threatening budget, with top class sailing performance.

Dragonfly 1200 Swing Wing Ocean Cruiser Foldable Trimaran

Dragonfly 1200 trimaran is a compact, yet feature packed ocean capable cruising trimaran, built for performance and pleasure. It is a foldable and trailable, has an inboard diesel engine, twin cabins, full galley, pressure water, heads and sails with roller furler.

The Dragonfly 1200 trimaran also gives the most demanding sailor the handson flexibility for getting the edge in high winds, and also gives the comfort, a bit more of the latter than other trimarans in its class. The spacious deck accomodation is inviting, thanks to the wider mid-hull, the deck is more spacious than other trimarans, and even wider than single hull sailing yachts of its size. The Dragonfly 1200 is unsinkable.

Kawasaki Jet Ski 800 SX-R

Added in Personal Watercraft on the August 24th, 2006

Kawasaki Jet Ski 800 SX-R

The Kawasaki Jet Ski 800 SX-R is probably the most best looking personal watercraft out there. Honestly, almost all the designs look the same. If we compare the design of watercrafts from Kawasaki, Bombardier, Honda and Yamaha we can see that they are nearly 100% identical. Except for the Jet Ski 800 SX-R of course.

It has a more streamlied design and aerodynamic contours. Its futuristic looks is a late departure from the boring standard of personal watercraft design. It probably has the golden ratio in its proportions, the front of the watercraft is proportionally larger than previous designs, and the extra space at the back has been reduced with the seats neatly curved back to the watercrafts rear edge.

As drawbacks, we should note that the Jet Ski 800 SX-R is actually a stand up watercraft. It is considerably smaller than the heavy 3 seaters, and therefore cannot accomodate more than 2 riders. The Jet Ski 800 SX-R has a 782cc engine.

Mirabella V, the Largest Single Masted Yacht / Tallest Mast in the World

Mirabella V, the Largest Single Masted Yacht / Tallest Mast in the World

Mirabella V is a single masted, super luxury sailing yacht. It has the tallest mast in any yacht in the world, the craft itself is huge compared to a big racing yacht. It currently holds the Guinness World Records of the tallest mast and the largest sail.

The yacht is owner by Joe Vittoria, and it is available for charter for upto US$ 275,000 per week. The design was the result of the brainstorming by the designers to combine the luxury of motor yachts and the speed and agility of sailing yachts, in one big yacht. The designers then came up with the single mast solution as it would reduce the hassle at the same time giving extreme and flexible sailing power. To reduce weight the designers chose to use composite boat building materials.

Mirabella Vs mast reaches up to 292 feet (88.5 meters) from water level. When the keel is fully dropped, the draught is 32 feet. The sail is the largest in the world and the size covers 1,833 m2 / 19,730 sp ft. She is 246 feet (75 meters) long (LOA) and 48 feet (14.8 meters) wide (beam) and has a displacement of 740 tonnes when fully loaded.
